Soccer, shows and shirts for Safin

Marat Safin celebrated his birthday in style last week when he attended a sports fashion show held in the Casablanca Cafe in central Milan.

At the show with Nicolas Kiefer the 21-year-old Russian star was given a huge birthday cake by organisers and a soccer shirt.

Safin met top soccer stars Alessandro Del Piero and Massimo Ambrosini who gave him an AC Milan shirt with his name on the back.

The tennis stars were relaxing ahead of the Milan Indoor Tournament where Safin reached the quarter-finals before being swiftly removed by BritainпїЅs Greg Rusedski.

Afterwards the top seed said: пїЅIt was a very nice atmosphere. There were a lot of kids here today. That is why you play tennis.пїЅ

During the tournament Nicolas Kiefer, Roger Federer, Nicolas Escude, Magnus Gustafsson, Paul Haarhuis and Sjeng Schalken were spotted enjoying a Serie A soccer match between victorious Inter Milan and Bari.
